Curated Shorts is a neotribal community of Filmmakers, Film Programmers and Short Film Lovers, curating, watching and screening exceptional short films around the world.
Why did we create Curated Shorts?
- Short films are more than a business card for emerging filmmakers. Shorts are a unique art form for filmmakers who want to tell their stories and build their audience, and we are dedicated to finding those filmmakers.
- We wanted a platform that curates exceptional short films independent of the trends, festival demands, and other limitations!
- Filmmaking is an international art, and we want to watch Shorts from all over the world. We want to share life stories and experiences, which is the point of all this.
- To gather and meet people who want to spend months of the sleepless night to make a short film that will bankrupt them, but by the time they press the export button to get the final version, they feel something that, as Kubrick said, few things in life can compete with that feeling.

A hundred thousand years ago, we gathered around a fire deep in caves telling stories to each other. Stories that educated, guided and inspired us to survive and know more of the mystery of who we are and where we are going.
We made curated shorts inspired by the same concept. We want to gather people from around the world and tell our stories to each other. This time visually!
We are the home for emerging filmmakers who want to express themseves and for experienced filmmakers to expand their audience and get feedback on their art.
We premiere, review and analyse short films. We have Q&A and interview sessions with the filmmakers to understand their work.
We made this platform to create a meaningful community caring about each other with a common goal; to expand independent and alternative ways of filmmaking.
Curated Shorts was founded by Roozbeh Misaghi, an Iranian London-based film analyst, in the middle of the UK lockdown in London in Jan 2021 after watching and analysing thousands of shorts.
